We will recommend an appropriate diagnostic plan to determine your pet's condition. From there, our Veterinarian will walk you through possible treatment options that work for you and your pet.
We allow you to visit your pet while they are hospitalized, though we ask that you limit your visits to short intervals as not to interfere with necessary treatments. We ask that if you are able to, to call ahead to arrange a visitation time so we can better coordinate your visit with our many patients' needs.
All patients are assessed upon arrival to ensure any necessary treatment in a timely manner. Our most critical patients are seen first, regardless of the time they arrive. That means that if a very critical case arrives, that animal will receive immediate attention. Our goal is to make sure every patient gets the best care possible so they are able to go back home to their families, even if this sometimes means an increased wait for others.
We work with your regular vet clinic to transfer all your pet's medical notes and diagnostics. As an emergency clinic, we encourage owners to follow-up with their regular clinic to ensure any ongoing care that may be needed.
We ask for some basic information regarding you and your pet.
All of our Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians are highly skilled and trained, we’ve got your pet’s medical needs covered. Whether your pet has sustained traumatic injury, has a chronic illness, or is just not feeling well, we have the expertise and the technology for speedy diagnosis and quality care.
Every staff member at RRAEC is a pet owner, so we understand that having a sick or injured pet can be stressful and scary. Trust us to keep you informed about the care your pet receives at our clinic and to be attentive to your needs as well. We promise to treat you and your pet with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Red River Animal Emergency Clinic
We understand that losing a beloved pet is a difficult time. Here are some commonly asked questions during that time.
The idea of an emergency facility had been long in the making. Veterinary clinics in the Fargo-Moorhead area wanted a place where clients could go no matter what time of the night and their patients could receive the best care possible. That dream became a reality when the Red River Animal Emergency Clinic opened its doors on December 22, 2005. We stayed open under the same name at 1401 Oak Manor Ave S until we outgrew our space and on September 12, 2018 when we re-opened as the Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and Referral Center at 4491 23rd Ave S. We strive to provide the highest level of emergency and critical care services for Fargo-Moorhead and the surrounding areas.
The Red River Animal Emergency Hospital and Referral Center is staffed by a Veterinarian and Veterinary Technicians at all times. As an emergency and walk-in clinic, no appointments are necessary. If your pet is critically ill, they will be examined by a Veterinarian immediately. If possible, we encourage you to call ahead and let us know you are coming. This allows us time to prepare the supplies or equipment needed to care for your pet.
